Thanks to this system, we guarantee the precision and durability of each and every synthetic turf field installation. We are leaders in our field and understand athletes' needs; each step of our work is managed with ease… and we turn every field into a success story.
Step 1. Analysis and Inspection
The most important for GTR Turf is to achieve accurate and sustainable fields. To achieve this, we start with a detailed analysis of all the material and all the machinery that we will use. We reviews all the final specifications and we carry out tests to ensure that we meet all specifications.
GTR Turf makes a complete analysis of the base and the work does not start if there is a flaw on it. Once the base is approved, we can initiate the installation.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Step 2. Sewing and Installation
One of our key differentiators is that GTR Turf does not use glue to assemble the synthetic turf. We will sew each piece of the turf, and this for all the field. In this way, we will reduce the risk of imperfections and take-off of the carpet in case of heavy rain, in case of harsh winters, in case of heavy use or simply in case of use through the years.
Once all the pieces of carpet have been sewn and examined, we proceed to take measures to ensure the accuracy of the installation of the lines. We use sewing machines of high level of precision and an innovative process that enables us to ensure optimal quality.
Step 3. Letters and Numbers
This step of the installation is a real craft games. At this stage, we proceed to the installation of all the lines of the field. To obtain a detailed precision, we will shave the green turf to then paste the proper color line.
This step is the one that takes the most time and the one that requires more precision and concentration. After installing the field lines, we will install the middle logo and if that is the case, the letter of the touchdown areas. Every line, every letter, every number, every logo is pasted manually one by one, in order to ensure a better quality and a fine precision.
Step 4. Infill and Finishing
Once all the field has been sewn and that all the lines, the lettering and the numbers have been put in place, we proceed to the filling with Silica sand and rubber granules or all other filling such as Geofill, a 100% ecological infill.
We use very specific recipes for the quantity of each product to ensure a safe and efficient field. We cannot afford to put a pound more or a pound less. With the latest technology and the rigorous processes, we will spread the infill products evenly all over the field. This way, we will ensure that our field are of the greatest quality at the time of delivery.

Planned visits ensure a more efficient and cost-effective service. It is necessary to make a first thorough inspection as soon as the snow melts. We recommend your first maintenance in late April, early May. Thereafter, a monthly maintenance during the busy season is necessary between the months of June to October.
A GTR Turf synthetic turf expert will visually inspect the surface of the field to verify the depth of the filling and the flatness of the surface.
A detailed report will be provided, identifying the status of the following components:
If after the inspection we find that your playing surface needs repairs, it is crucial that any minor damage is repaired before doing the first maintenance as a small unresolved problem may require a major repair afterwards.
In the event of vandalism or unusual use, damage may be present on the playing surface. All seams shall be inspected and any loose areas shall be repaired. We will check each panel and note any creases and / or tears. We will evaluate the condition of the underlayer and the surface. In the case of older and / or worn out field, an inspection should be done in the fall.
Limit your maintenance personnel to minor repairs. For more serious problems, consult your GTR Turf specialist for a detailed quote of the repairs to be made.
GTR Turf provides quick guaranteed repair service to all types of fields, regardless of the original installer. We also offer a new installation maintenance program to ensure field durability. All repairs follow the GTR process.
Synthetic turf is made up of artificial materials which require regular maintenance like additional infill, irrigation due to unacceptable high temperatures on sunny days, chemical disinfectants etc.
Maintenance of synthetic turfs are crucial to players and sportsman to ensure their overall health and wellbeing. Hence drainage to synthetic turf needs to be repaired and maintained, temporary lines and damages need to be tended to at regular interval.
While regular maintenance increases the life of synthetic turf, heavy usage over the 9 year period can make the field unsafe.
Uneven spots, less to no turf fiber and detached places can harm the athletes and cause serious injuries.
However, if replaced every eight to ten years or upon extreme damage, synthetic turf can not only benefit players to a great extent, they are much low maintenance and much less costly than natural grass.
Natural Grass are high maintenance and they have high replacement cost as well. Synthetic turfs on the other hand are three times less costly in maintenance than normal grass which is a boon for people maintaining and using them.
So look at your synthetic sports field once again. Does it have an odour, does it look damaged? Does it need urgent tending? Is it more than ten years since it was installed?
If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, your synthetic sports field needs to be changed to ensure a healthy life to sportsmen and to reduce heavy maintenance costs.
Your synthetic grass sports field is a key part of your sport program, recreation program or physical education program. Solid reason to ensure that you Offer the best playing surface to your athletes.
Our professional maintenance plan allows you to keep the full potential of your playing surface at all times and will significantly increase the life and performance of your pitch
One of the challenges the synthetic turf industry is determining how best to manage the removal and disposition of synthetic turf once it has reached the end of its useful life.
Synthetic turf includes a variety of polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, styrene butadiene rubber and polyurethane. Natural materials such as silica sand and calcium carbonate are also present. These materials must be separated in order to be recycled and the variety presents a unique challenge not seen in other recycled materials such as plastic bottles, carpet or plastic bags.
The conversion of synthetic turf into recyclable material is very complex and costly. Once the decision has been made to recycle the synthetic turf, the turf is cut, picked up and rolled into easily transportable bundles.
The Infill must be removed from the turf and further separation may be required to separate sand and debris.
After components have been removed from the turf, it can be broken down into materials suitable for post-consumer recycle content in the plastics industry or reuse as a component in its original form.
The other components of the synthetic turf such as the infill have different reuse and recyclable processes depending on its composition. Infill such as the Crumb Rubber can be reuse as infill on new synthetic turf sports field or landscape installations, road base, acoustic barriers, floating docks and energy can be recovered from crumb rubber infill by incineration, pyrolysis or gasification.
Both EPDM and TPE infill are reusable as infill and recyclable into infill or other products. Energy can also be recovered from TPE where the calorific value (CV) can be up to 25-30 MJ/kg.
At the end of its life cycle, organic infill can be recycled directly into the environment.
Pure Silica Sand can be reused as infill on new synthetic turf sports fields or landscape installations. It can also be used in natural turf soil amendments to improve wear tolerance and prolong playability.
Coated Crumb Rubber can be recovered, sanitized and recoated for reuse as infill for synthetic turf sports systems and can be recycled into rubberized asphalt or molded products.
Other parts of the synthetic turf have various reuse and recyclable purposes, some of which include:
• Shock Pads which last more than one turf lifecycle. Select pads can also be reused for other uses such as golf mats and farm animal mats.
• Integrated Drainage and Shock Pad Underlayment which can be recycled and incorporated into a new drainage pad or other products. Cross-linked polyethylene can be a fuel source and has a caloric value of 45 MJ/kg.
It can be used in synthetic lumber such as boards, railroad ties, posts and also to produce parts such as Injection molded parts and Compression molded products.
